Hello & Welcome!
Firstly, I just want to say THANK YOU for coming to my website and taking a look!

My name is Gabby, I am a Melbourne based mum of two tweenage girls, both on the Autism spectrum. I have a background in nursing and healthcare. Oh, and we are a child led home schooling family!

Social Seeds sprouted during the craziness of 2020! Being physically isolated from the people we love, lockdown after lockdown, really opened my eyes to the importance of keeping connected! I really wanted to see both myself and my family increasing our “frientimacy” not only with each other but also with our extended family and friends alike. However, this is not something that comes easily to my girls as they both struggle with initiating, maintaining and engaging in conversations, sol I really needed a way to make conversations both engaging and easier for them!

A tool that would assist them with independently initiating and maintaining meaningful, and engaging conversations that support and nourish connection, in a way that was flexible, easy and fun!

I searched online not really knowing exactly what I was looking for when I discovered conversation cards for adults, but unfortunately nothing suited to kids or families!

I thought why not create some myself, and that's how they came to be!

My kids LOVED playing and engaging with the cards with us and with their friends so much, I starting thinking about making more for others to enjoy and starting my own small business!

I was unemployed and home schooling my children due to school refusal as a result of social and sensory challenges, so this was a way for me to still have something to keep my mind busy, have a sense of achievement and eventually the ability to contribute to the household financially again too!

I chose the sunflower to represent the brand as the sunflower symbolises adoration, loyalty and longevity! Their yellow colour also traditionally represents friendship. Most importantly, sunflowers are known for being “happy” flowers, making them the perfect gift to bring joy to someone’s (or your) day!

Social Seeds is growing each day and I couldn't be more thankful! There are now game decks being played over seas, in schools, in therapy sessions and are also available in stores within Australia! Since launching we have been able to raise much needed funds for local charities such as Save the Bees, Bully Zero and Kids Help Line!

Thanks to everyone who is assisting to nurture this growth. I love hearing all the positive feedback and stories from you, so please keep it coming! I can't wait to see this business and it's community continue to grow and bloom!
